Moving into my 12th year of being back into professional photography I am grateful for the clients and friends I have met. I picked up photography as a hobby while serving in the US Army in Germany. Later I taught photography, managed a camera store, opened a photo lab and commercial photograph business, operated a restaurant and event venue, worked at Virginia Tech and then in 2012 I came full circle back to photography full time.

This website is my Gallery site for Whitescarver Photography, LLC. I am Charlie Whitescarver, a professional photographer serving the greater New River Valley of Virginia. I live in Christiansburg and my Studio is located in downtown Christiansburg. Much of my work happens around the NRV and I am proud to serve many of the institutions, organizations, businesses, families and people in this special place in Virginia.

My Studio is located inside the Montgomery Museum of Art and History; and I am grateful to involved with such a good organization. I am also a docent for the Museum.

Visitors, there are several public galleries but all galleries require you to sign in. This keeps the images safe from most pilfering and unauthorized use.

If you purchase prints from a gallery of an event by a non-profit organization (i.e. United Way) a portion of the proceeds will be donated to that organization.

An experienced commercial and portrait photographer Charlie's photographs have been published in newspapers, magazines, billboards and the web for business clients. The photographs he has taken for families adorn mantels, bookshelves, and given as gifts. Charlie advocates you have prints made as you never know how your phone, computer, or the cloud, will behave from day to day. Contributing to his community is a passion and he volunteers his time and talent to many community organizations. Call him for that personal or business project that deserves a good photograph.
